We alas cannot extract the smelly food outside to an external wall, so we bought an extractor fan with a charcoal and grease filter.
For the price the Bosch has more power than the competition, and it works quite well.
The carbon filters designed for the integrated hood are quite pricey but you can find them a lot cheaper if you buy the ones you cut down, directly off ebay.
The intergrated hood has a simple light, with 3 speed powers, you can connect it to an outside wall but as mentioned alas we don’t have this option.
So does it get rid of the smells?
Simple answer is yes, the charcoal filter does get rid of the smells, you might prefer the chimney style versions but if you want the basic style this one will do you perfectly well and comes with a good warranty.
