Fruityloops Review

For the last few years I have been composing with quite a few different software programmes from cubasis, to cubase and my old time favourite making waves, however for functionality at an amazing low price nothing can compete with Fruityloops.

Fruityloops allows every VST and DX plug in under the book, it has loads of freebies synths and drum effects and most importantly a huge fan base, finding bugs and getting them fixed simply in the next release with a huge forum for questions

There is a learning curve when you start to use the software and in fact I think even after it I only know 10% of the functionality. I did find certain parts of the system quite un-intuitive, for instance coping a few bars of music and then pasting them, it's not that it can't do it, its more the way I expect it to work is different, I am sure it can do it like I wish it to work however I haven't found the option or method to do it. As you will soon learn fruity loops can do pretty much anything it's just finding out where the functionality is hidden.

Once the beginners learning curve had finished I could only praise the product, you will find nothing else like it on the market and not at its amazing price and things are just getting better.

And now that Fruityloops 6 has being released it has the most beautiful amazing add on option, something I have wanted like many others, for a long time, an add on called direct wave.

It will be able to load most sound formats including Giga, EXS24, Battery, Kontakt, Recycle, SF2 & Akai and convert them into its own format for saving and playing, this includes copying over vital information like velocity sensitivity and loop points, this is fantastic, if it works in the way promised (and you can test it out yourself in the demo), you could simply buy a sound library cd and play it with fruity loops even though you don't have that sound format player, saving you time, money and effort. Direct Wave loads into memory which fortunately isn't a huge problem with memory being cheap, however it might make initial loading slow and the really huge giga files impossible to work with unless you have huge memory in your computer.

There are rumours they might sort out the memory loading sound problem in later versions.

If you are a musician fruity loops is a must whatever the music style, I've managed to compose dance to classical piano music with it.
