Web Resolution on a Website.

There are many ways to tackle showing your web site on different web resolutions on different computers.

I choose to go down to the lowest common denominator that of 800 by 600, this prevent those annoying horizontal scrollbars on the Windows screen.

In fact only 12% of my users still run their web browser in 800 x 600 resolution so my view in this area might change at a later date.

Some people get around this problem by putting all their text and pictures in resizable html tables but the results can be undesirable.

The most common resolution (Oct 2006) was   1024x768   at around 56% followed by  1280x1024  at 12.66% , so in future a 768 width might be the answer.
